DAY 1: Airport to Nuwara Eliya

Welcome to world of Heart Attached Holidays! You will be warmly welcomed by our representative on arrival and will be transferred to beautiful hill station – Nuwara Eliya.

Start your journey by visiting Sita Amman temple, hidden away in the hill country. The temple is located in the village called “Seetha Eliya”. This place is believed to be the place where Sita was held captive by the king Ravana, when she was imprisoned in the Ashoka forests of the region. There is a rock on the opposite bank where Sita sat and meditated. Temple workers will gladly show visitors the spot where Sitha bathed, the stone she sat on and where she prayed.

Then visit Haggala Botanical Garden – which is a simply amazing garden of flowers and tall trees for any other visitor, but for our Indianneighbors this brings lively memories of agreat Indian love story. Haggala was one of the pleasure gardens of King Ravana, where he kept kidnapped Sita, and tried to convince her hand in marriage.Lord Rama’s loyal servant Hanuman met Sita in this very place, where he showed Rama’s ring for her and asked her to escape with him. But Sita, a devoted wife refused claiming she would go with none, but her husband Rama.

DAY 2: Nuwara Eliya

This morning you will be heading to another place which showed the world of Sita’s devotion and loyalty to her husband. “Divurumpola Temple” – the “temple of vows” in Welimada, yet another important place of the Rama – Sita story, where Sita throws herself on a fire in anguish for the claim Rama made that he cannot accept her because she “lived with another man”, and Sita proved her purity when she was spared by the flames. Following this tradition, people still come here to pledge their fidelity.

Then visit “Gayathri Peedam”, where it is believed to be the place King Ravana’s son Meghanath propitiated Lord Shiva with penance and poojas and in turn was granted super natural powers by lord Shiva.

DAY 3: Nuwara Eliya to Ella to Kandy

Visit Ella – a small mountainous village near Bandarawela where massive Ravana Ella fall is located. According to the legends this also another place where Ravana hid Sita in the Ravana caves behind 1080 feet high waterfall. Proving the architectural brilliance of King Ravana, these caves were connected to dozens of tunnels which served as a quick means of transport through the hills and also as a secret passage. These tunnels networked all the important cities, airport and dairy farms.

DAY 4: Kandy

After breakfast start the journey to Weragantota was the capital city of King Ravana and means “a place of flying chariot (aircraft) landing” in Sinhala language. It is believed to be the first place where Sita was brought into Sri Lanka The city had a beautiful palace for Queen Mandothari – the wife of Ravana.

Though was kept in Queen Mandodari‘s Palace after she was kidnapped, for obvious reasons Ravana later moved Sita to a fortress of her own. This, then called as Sita kotuwa, was an imprisonment for Sita than a fortress.

Then visit to Laggala – the “Target Rock”. This hill is geographically the highest part of the northern region and on a clear day Munneswaram shrine and Talai Mannar can been seen from here. King Ravana is believed to have meditated on this rock and prayed at Munneswaram shrine to Lord Shiva. The hill was guarded King Ravana’s army and however, it was from this very same rock the first glimpse of Lord Rama’s army was sighted. As fate has written King Ravana was killed in the same place where he was guarded for years.

Then head to Yahangla, located along the MahianganayaWasgamuwa road and is visible from miles away.
Here King Ravana’s body was displayed after his death to allow his countrymen to offer their last respect. Yahangala, thus means the place (the stone) Ravana was last laid.

DAY 5 & 6: Kandy to Chilaw to Negombo

As the days are winding up in your Sri Lanka journey, let us take you to the place where final episode of Rama-Sita story in Sri Lanka. It’s the Munneswaram temple in Chilaw. As Rama was taking his beloved wife Sita to their own Palace in Ayodhya, Rama was haunted by the idea that he was being followed by bramhaasthidosham as he had killed King Ravana who was a Brahmin. He stopped his chariot to get some advice from lord Siva in this place where now the temple is irrupted. Lord Shiva blessed Lord Rama and advised him to install four lingams there and pray to get rid of the dosham. Since then many Hindu devotees flock to the Temple.

Then visit Mannavari Temple where the first lingam installed and prayed to by Lord Rama and this lingam is also called RamalingaShivan. Apart from this, the Lingam in Rameshwaram is the only Lingam said to be in the world which is named after Lord Rama.

DAY 7: Departure

Payment Conditions:

  • Payment only should be made once you receive your Invoice from Heart Attached (Pvt) Ltd
  • Six weeks or more prior to the travel date – 50% of the total tour cost
  • Six weeks or less – 100% of the tour cost
  • All the bank charges borne by the remitter. Local bank charges borne by us
  • Credit card payment will attract additional 4% to 5% charges depending on the card type

  • Once confirmed hotels can be changed within cancellation window only with a cancellation fee. Please request more details of the hotels if required or visit their websites / reviews for more information
  • Excursions / day tours except the ones agreed in the above programme are optional and could be provided on an additional fee
  • Entrance Fees are NOT included to any of the attractions, unless mentioned above
  • Travel insurance is not included in the above cost
  • Visits to wild life parks will be at client’s own risk

Cancellation Charges:

  • 15 days or less – 100% cancellation charge
  • Between 16 days and 30 days – 50% cancellation charges or the equivalent of the first two days charges depending on the programme and period of stay
  • Above 30 days – No cancellation charges provided no commitment or advances are made to 3rd parties
  • During peak seasons, (e.g. Dec – Jan) 100% cancellation charge applicable for cancellation within 30 days

Hotel rules and regulations:

  • The official check-in time at all hotels will be 1400hrs
  • The official check-out time at all hotels will be 1100hrs
  • Early check-in and late check-out are on availability basis
  • Cancellation policy will be applicable for any reduction of rooms after the release period
  • All the supplements should be directly paid to the hotel
